I have learned that such overexposure of the film would lead you to filter (if in a darkroom) or adjust the contrast (in Photoshop) so that it comes close to resembling some old fashion photographs. I found that this was the only way to bring out all the detail in some of the prints, but was reluctant to do so for a final. It is useful to know for future reference, I suppose. It also gives me an idea of why many of the B&Ws I would see in Puerto Rico would have such a quality, since there is usually very bright lightning. I suppose that to properly compensate for it, I would've needed some kind of filter for my camera lens, or a faster shutter speed (if that's possible).

To answer your question, although there are other colleseums around in better condition, i guess it comes down to that this one really was the centre point of a civilisation, and therefor saw alot of history unfold under it's walls.
Anyway thanks again for your comment!!! bye
